This review is based on the introductory package which is ~£500 (incl. tax). I’ll start by saying that if you already have some form of appreciation for interior or aesthetics in general and are looking for a company to help add real value especially on the design front, then this is probably not the company for you. They might be ok if you have no idea where to even start and needed a generic combination of furniture – but going from my experience you might need the more expensive packages to reach something reasonable. There was no need for the initial consultation at my flat because the final proposal had no reflection of this. I felt the service was rushed from the start (when they were trying to up-sell me to the Bronze package before understanding what I am trying to achieve) to finish.

After the initial “consultation” at my flat, the first proposal was given, which was just a random collection of furniture. I then spent up to an hour writing very detailed feedback to really help them guide me through the design process, and after all of that, pretty much nothing had changed in the “second” draft, a few furniture items had slightly changed colours or one or two max more items where added. No real change in what they were to deliver, which is a pre-made “design” output. Upon receiving the “second” draft, they made no mistake in rushing me to select what I liked and sign the document. Attention to detail was also poor, even within their recommendation which I won’t bother going into.

To summarise, passive aggression on trying to maximise the money they make from you, you DO NOT get a personalised service, and if you are looking for a real design-edge then go somewhere else as this company is not for you.

My experience with Design 121 is by far the best service I have ever received. Elena who was my designer was always there for me, she has done more than what I was expected. She was working on my backyard in order to make new office in our garden. I really have to give it all to Elena for just being there for me and explaining everything in detail to me it made the experience so much more easier once she showed me visual. I would recommend this company to anyone who is just starting out and looking to have extention for house, so they will make the experience memorable and exciting.

Absolutely fantastic service

I have worked for design 121 for over a year now and I can't fault the company. As a designer for design 121 you are fed a number of fantastic opportunities, freedom for design, flexibility and you can work along side inspirational experienced designers. Help is always at hand and the opportunity to grow as a designer and project manager. Will definitely recommend design 121 to any aspiring or experienced designer.

One of the worst experiences of my life!! From the very beginning I was clear about what I wanted and they didn't deliver. The builders they put me in contact pulled out and I didn't even get reimbursed for the parking permit I had organised for them.

I had to pay for the project manager to come up to site myself even though it was agreed as part of the plan that the project manager would be on site. There was no project management at all!!!

There is a leak in the bathroom sink and both the oven and gas cooker are faulty. I ended up pretty much doing everything myself. I would never use or recommend them.
